Rooted in Values, Guided by Principles, Shaping Leaders of Tomorrow

Shree Kanchi Shankara Public School, Gota

“विवेकः सह धर्मेण”
Vivekah Saha Dharmena
“Wisdom with righteousness.”

Shree Kanchi Shankara Public School (SKSPS), Gota, is one of the esteemed educational institutions established under the blessings of His Holiness Shri Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Mutt. Rooted in the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Bharat, all our institutions are dedicated to nurturing the aspirations of young minds across the nation.

At SKSPS, every student is guided to grow into a confident, articulate, and responsible citizen. We believe in empowering children to dream big and walk confidently toward their goals. Our approach blends academic excellence with holistic development, ensuring students are prepared not just for exams, but for life.

With modern infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, robust sports facilities, and a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, SKSPS provides an environment where talent is nurtured and individuality is celebrated. While we embrace the best of contemporary education, we remain deeply rooted in our timeless culture and traditions — shaping students who are both future-ready and value-driven.

Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam has always emphasized Vidya as a means to liberate from ignorance and bondage. True knowledge (SadVidya) nurtures young minds into patriotic, compassionate, hardworking, and dharmic citizens. With this vision, Kamakoti Peetam has supported the establishment of educational institutions across Bharata Desha.

Mahaperiyava once said: “This whole world is one family with Parvathi and Parameswara as its parents,” as beautifully conveyed in the opening verse of Kalidasa’s Raghuvamsam. Learning rests on two pillars: devotion to the Guru and personal discipline. Matrubhakti, Pitrubhakti, and Gurubhakti — devotion to mother, father, and guru — are essential.

Teachers must recognize that the school is a child’s second home. They must teach with kindness, love, and steadfast care. The Advayatarakopanishad defines a Guru as one who removes the darkness of ignorance:

गुशब्दस्त्वन्धकारः स्यात्‌ रुशब्दस्तन्निरोधकः।

अन्धकारनिरोधित्वात्‌ गुरुरित्यभिधीयते॥

Thus, a teacher must be well-read and self-aware. As Bhagavan Sri Krishna says in the Gita (3.21):

यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः ।

स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते ॥

Children look up to teachers and parents as role models. Therefore, both must embody good character at home and in school.

My blessings to the students, teachers, parents, and the management team of the Kanchi Shankara School.

About Us

In the aftermath of the devastating Bhuj earthquake on January 26, 2001, our revered Guru, His Holiness Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal of the Kanchi Shankara Mutt, visited Gujarat to offer solace and support. Moved by the immense suffering of the people, Swamiji personally met with leaders and pledged the Mutt’s unwavering support to help rebuild lives.

Recognizing the Mutt’s noble mission, the Government of Gujarat generously offered land for its service initiatives. It was on this very land—granted by the District Collector of Ahmedabad—that our school was born.

At the time, Gota was a modest gram panchayat, home to families struggling with poverty and daily hardship, including many migrant laborers. Deeply aware of their plight, Swamiji envisioned a beacon of hope: a school that would provide quality education to underprivileged children at a minimal fee—giving them the opportunity to dream, grow, and thrive.

Inspired by his compassionate vision, we founded this school in 2001. Ever since, we have been dedicated to nurturing young minds and uplifting communities, staying true to Swamiji’s path of service, love, and learning.
